CRBio provides non commercial free access to species and specimen data. Therefore, the data must be used in benefit of the biodiversity conservation and the resulting products must clearly indicate the intellectual property rights of members of CRBio. The CRBio portal for sharing information of especies, occurreces and bibliographic data, was originally developed by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and extended by the Species and Specimens Thematic Network (SSTN) part of the Interamerican Biodiversity Information Network (IABIN).
